There aren't many slips in the jar this year, but it's not because there weren't lots of great moments. I've had a pretty good year emotionally, due mostly to seeing a great therapist and doing really well on my medication for the depression. It's still there, but it doesn't hurt so badly, and I have more good days than bad days now. That's something I couldn't put in the jar that really means something, but it took me a year to figure that out. Without any further ado, here's what was in the jar in no order whatsoever.
    • Broke the sex dry spell and had a great time with my husband. Did not go 2 years without after all!
    • Blood pressure NICE and LOW, 120/64 with pulse rate of 68. BMI dropped from 68 to 60! Scale hasn't moved much yet but good things are happening! (1/28/2018)
    • I am pleasantly surprised that Ellie made it to her 13th birthday! Old lady dog may live a while longer than I thought! (1/19, she was put to sleep in March after getting kennel cough)
    • Helped Joey with his Pinewood Derby car and it looks AWESOME! Hope it races just as well as it looks! (we called it the Later Gator)
    • Found pants I thought were lost forever when looking for my snow boots- and they will fit good again soon!
    • I own, and have worn, a 1X shirt! NSV!!!!
    • Mom and Jill are moving to a house! With a fenced in yard and right around the corner from a really nice library! (the house turned out to be a dump on the inside, but they moved to a much nicer much larger apartment on the ground floor)
    • Got a postcard from the SOUTH POLE!
    • Had a great Christmas and a happy new year! Joey loved all his presents and I loved all of mine ♥
    • Saw a tree SO FULL of robins that it looked like a fall tree! Never seen anything like it!
    • Got a job! Working at PETSMART! FOR MY BIRTHDAY! (didn't stay because my van died on me and I had no way to get there every day, but I'm working at another pet store, a local company, that is 2 miles from the house and I LOVE IT!)
    • SNOW!!!!
    • Got our aquarium set up- 9 neon tetras (smallest is Waldo, biggest is Greg) 1 betta (Toki-o) and 2 albino cory catfish (big one is Jon Snow, small one is Ghost). Also Spot the Snail! (only one of those fish is still alive and that's Toki-o)
Not sure if I should keep doing this, or maybe I should encourage EVERYONE to put things in there. There were lots more things this year, but I'd forgotten about all of these, so it's good to revisit every now and again

I only had 7 slips in my jar last year. My depression and anxiety were off the chain, and this year I was medicated and had so many slips I couldn't fit any more into the jar!. So here are all the moments I had that I was grateful to be alive, in no particular order.
Wow. What a long beautiful year it's been. I hope the coming year is just as good or better ♥

There weren't very many slips this year... Let's face it, 2016 has sucked on a lot of levels for a lot of people.  But there were some things I forgot to write down, so I will put those at the end.  For those who aren't familiar with this thing I do, I keep a jar full of little slips of paper with things that have made me happy written on them. On Yule, I open the jar and relive all the happy things that have happened.  I only had 7 slips this year but I've had lots more in the past. I've been wanting to keep a jar of regrets as well, to throw on a Yule bon fire or something, but I'm afraid someone (my husband mainly) would get into it and take everything out of context.

Anyway, here's the list, in no particular order.

I have a jar I keep on my altar that I fill up throughout the year with positive things that make me happy.  On Yule, I like to open the jar and read all the awesome stuff that I did and be thankful for everythig in the jar.

I coulnd't be more depressed.  I found lots of slips related to the $14 an hour job and the progress on my weight loss I'd made.  Here's the list in its entirety if you're interested. I think I'm gonna go cry for a few hours.

I have a jar in my house that sits on my altar, and whenever somethign happens that makes me smile or laugh or generally makes me glad to be alive, I write it down on a slip of paper and put it in the jar, and on Yule, I open the jar and recall all the wonderul stuff that happened ont he longest night of the year.  This list is everything that happened, in no particular order.

I have a jar that sits on top of my oven full of little scraps of paper.  And on those little scraps of paper are written things that have made me happy.  Sometimes it's big things, sometimes it's little things, but if it strikes me as something I'm really glad to be alive for, I write it down and put it in this jar.  I open it up on Yule and read them and think about all the great stuff that happened in the past year and how lucky I am to have had those great memories.  I wasn't sure what to do with the slips after I read them, so I trascribed them into a word doc to save them and I thought I'd share my list with you guys (since some of YOU contributed to the pile of slips in the jar!)  These are in no particular order, just the order I happened to read them in.  And not all of these were dated, but if they had a date I included it.
