sonjajade I only had 7 slips in my jar last year. My depression and anxiety were off the chain, and this year I was medicated and had so many slips I couldn't fit any more into the jar!. So here are all the moments I had that I was grateful to be alive, in no particular order.
- Joey was having trouble sleeping so I introduced him to ASMR to help make him sleepy. IT WORKED! He listened to a 10 hr loop of a cat purring to help him sleep 1/3
- Went to Joey's end of the year party at school with Walt and had a really great time. 5/12
- Finished my first cosplay helmet and I am SO PROUD of myself and the Bendy head! It's not perfect, but better than I expected it to be! 7/10
- Went to Senor Iguanas for the first time and got a meal big enough to feed me 3 more times. 12/17
- Uncle Frank paid for Joey to go to summer camp at the Humane Society! So excited for him! 5/25
- Made a "Pussyhat", Posted it on facebook and sold a second one. Made Joey a hat of the same pattern and now I have 4 more people asking for hats! Who knew people would like mt crocheting so much! 1/15
- House taxes paid on time despite me only having $400 of my share, despite going up almost $700, despite not having the damn letter. Gods bless and keep Cliff. 12/30
- After weeks of writer's block, wrote something really good and fairly easily. Might need to switch fandoms, it was for Black Lagoon 1/30
- Joey had a great day! (We both did!) Swimming in the pool, winning a fidget spinner on the first try and other prizes at the church picnic, then surprise pizza and donuts from Cliff! 6/2
- First payday- 3/4ths of house taxes put up, bill money taken care of, still had money to do things HOLY SHIT. 7/28
- First pedicure in years. Glad I'm financially stable enough to do it. Toes look and feel great! 8/29
- Went to lunch with Walt, just the 2 of us. We had a good time and the food was good, Famous Dave's is hard to beat! 1/17
- Beautiful weather! Successful Pokehunt! Went to a playground and another little boy with green hair had a five nights at freddy's plushie and knew all the same songs as Joey! Slushies afterward! Beautiful SKY! 6/19
- Managed to spend the entire weekend in my pajamas, from Friday night to Monday morning. Awesome!
- Went to Cheddar's for dinner, Cliff and Joey's first time. We had an AMAZING meal and we all looked like we were mentally singing "A World of Pure Imagination". THAT PERFECT! Great day 10/10 would do again!
- Joey's reading grade came up from an F to a B! His handwriting grade came up from a C to an A! Way to go Pea! 1/12
- Got to participate in my first cub scout award ceremony. I LOVE BEING A DEN LEADER! 12/11
- Went to Post office interview, went really well, and got a free umbrella for my time! 1/26 (I didn't get the job lol)
- Joey's first cub scout camp out (lock-in) was a success! Had a great time! 11/17-11/18
- Had an amazing day at the zoo with Jill (sister), Stephen (her ex) and the kids! Beautiful weather! Great walking pace! Boys had Fun! So grateful for a great day 4/5
- Got gas for $1.27!! $18 filled up the van! 2/6
- PURPLE HAIR!!! 8/6
- Got a job! It's not full time but it pays good and I'll be getting some physical activity! WHEEEE! 2/10 (job was Home Depot)
- Surprise Valentine's Dinner at El Nopal 2/13
- Had a great birthday lunch with Walt and Cliff at Shogun! Had Blizzards for dessert! 1/9
- Another gorgeous day at that random playground with Joey and O'Charley's for dinner after! 6/20
- Bought a brand new drum kit- lime green sparkle finish. Gigs to come AFTER recovery from weight loss surgery 10/24
- Aunt Patsy came over and we picked strawberries together. SHE IS CANCER FREE!!! 5/13
- Interviewed at Papa John's corporate out by my old Humana building. Of course the sky out there was FUCKING AMAZING. Absolutely gorgeous as always. Would love to be out there at night sometime. 5/1
- Got over my anxiety and met Regular Laura in person today! I got a cup from the radio station too! 1/25
- For the first time in years, I used a few stairs the way you're supposed to and I didn't hurt or look like an old lady! 2 days post op and doing GREAT! 11/22
- Joey had his first cub scout meeting and on 10/17 we got his uniform! 10/16
- Got an actual Yule Log! Here's hoping it doesn't rain so we can light it at our Yule party! 12/15 (We did light it, though it didn't completely burn)
- Listening to my son read without ANY HELP from a science book. So proud! 2/6
- Got to see JOE BUCCERI for the first time in 10 years! SO EXCITING!! 9/10
- Despite a horrible start, ended up having a great day. Cliff pantsed Joey, then me and him went to the grocery and he made it fun! He did the dishes for me this morning too. 7/11
- Cliff and I met out old JK2 2nd in command "Obi-Tew". He's from Canada! We met at Krispy Kreme and the weather was amazing- talked for 2 hours! Got donuts to go!
- Talked to Joe Bucceri on the phone for the first time in like 6 1/2 years. So glad he's doing well! 1/30
- My free ring came today! Normally, stuff isn't ever too big for me, but this ring is on the verge of being too big. I'm sure in the summer this will change, so that's alright. It's beautiful and FREE! 1/18
- Ran into Granny at the grocery. She gave Joey $5 and gave me $25, just because. I tried to give it back to her but she wouldn't let me. I don't deserve her. 2/10
- Sat in a chair with arms at the Dr. and DID NOT get stuck. Wore jeans I haven't worn in 2 years! 11/16
- Downloaded an app to my phone called Memrise and I am finally learning to READ Japanese! (hiragana for 'matane' written below that) 8/4
- Mowed the backyard for its first cutting of the season. Did it all by myself, didn't get too winded, and the yard looks great! Legs didn't even hurt too bad! 4/7
- So accomplished! Something I couldn't have done 1 month ago- *Picked up Joey's clothes and room *1 load of laundry *Grocery shopping *Cut up all the meat *Fixed dinner *Fixed dessert w/Joey *Played outside w/Joey *Cleaned out and washed the deep fryer *Dishes HOLY MOLY! 4/8
- Joey is such a good artist! He's really coming into his own style and I can't wait to see what he draws next!
- Making big changes- Joey and I are going to start walking everyday. Pokewalk is 1K, around the block is .5 K. As incentive, every 10 K we walk = Waffle House. Also every 20 glasses of water he drinks, $5 or equivalent prize. We are going to get healthy! 2/25
- Got to spend the afternoon with my boys! Lunch and silliness 8/29
- Got to chaperone a field trip w/Joey for the first time today. We saw a musical called Stinky Kids at Derby Dinner Playhouse. It was okay, even I laughed sometimes. Loved getting to go w/ my Pea! 3/1
- Got free stuff at Bath and Body Works! 2/6
- Joey earned his first cub scout badge! Go Bobcat! 10/30
- FINALLY getting everything in order for weight loss surgery! Bought all the vitamins and meal replacements, had the endoscopy done and wasn't afraid- IT'S HAPPENING!!!!
- Bought Joey a trampoline- Major thanks to IRS for letting me have my federal return! He even helped me and Walt put it together! Enjoyed being downtown today, wish I had spent more time and took more pictures. 2/21
- Hung out with Scotty (step brother) all afternoon and saw his GORGEOUS house! Wasn't awkward or weird at all. He's just like Dad with less lying. 10/26
- Saw a falcon today while taking a walk. That's the 2nd time in a week- maybe a sign of good things to come, blessings from Horus. 1/16
- Joey makes the MOST ADORABLE old man ever! (and he looks just like Bob [grandfather] when he smiles!) 1/26
- Scored a deal on chocolate strawberries after spending all morning cleaning. SWEET! 2/14
- After years of trying, Walt was finally approved for QMB! YESSSSSS!!!!! 11/16
- Backstage look at a Doggy Daycare and boarding kennel. BEST EXPERIENCE ALL YEAR. SO MANY DOGS!!! I'm hoping I can choose between this job and the post office but we'll see 1/17 (I didn't get to choose either job!)
- Today was the first snow of the year! It wasn't much but it was so pretty, and Gizmo seemed to like it better than I hoped. 1/5
- Changed my life forever and went through with the sleeve gastrectomy surgery. I will NEVER weigh 300 pounds ever again! REBORN 11/20
- Surprise! Took Joey for a slushie at Thornton's and got a free one with my rewards card! 4/10
- After weeks of watching and waiting, I got to see April the Giraffe have he baby, live in real time, when I was sure I'd miss it. 4/15
- Got a surprise paycheck today! Was only $30 or so, but that makes a big difference! 1/19
- First day of work in two months! Home Depot! 3/7
- Heard the wind sighing in the boughs of the big pine tree at Greathouse (Joey's school). It was like a soft whisper. I want a dozen pines now. Also got to lie back and gaze at the sky from the comfort of the trampoline. 3/8
- Made it through the endoscopy no problem! Closer to my surgery goal than ever! 8/29
- New Furbaby! Welcome "Achilles" aka Billy Birthday 3/16/17 8/9
- Helped a deaf elderly couple today and it filled me with joy. Joy comes easier when the depression is out of the way. 8/29
- ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS OUTSIDE! We had a BEAUTIFUL day for the Birthday Bash and plenty of food and fun for all. So blessed to have so much love on such a pretty day! 6/25
- Had a great day at Kentucky Kingdom with Joey and the fam! Beautiful weather! Didn't have a panic attack! Had money for stuff! 7/29
- Joey KILLED IT at skeeball when we went to Chuck E Cheese! AND- he was face to face w/Chuck and didn't get scared! 4/7
- Played around in makeup w/Joey and had a blast! We were trying to make wrinkles but ended up making a mess, but we laughed lots! 1/25
