sonjajade#1. MOTHER IN LAW DID A COMPLETE 180. She is awake, aware, did NOT suffer any brain damage from the low oxygen levels she dealt with, nor any lingering effects from the cardiac arrest. She is OFF the ventilator, and though she still has pneumonia, she is expected to make a complete recovery, and after some time at the nursing home retraining her legs so she can transfer to the potty, she is expected to return home.
#2. As I have always hoped for, she will not be returning to MY home. My brother in law and his soon to be fiance (SQUEAL!! She's so awesome!!) will be taking her in and caring for her. She will be in good hands, and we will have room finally for a baby. I thought I was going to cry when I heard that they would be taking her today. Hubs and I have been caring for one or both of his parents since just after we started getting serious. We are going to be able to keep this house, simply move all her stuff into her new room, and.. I dunno, it will be the first time we've ever been "on our own".
I can't believe that just 3 days ago we were getting ready to plan a funeral, now we're getting ready to plan a partial move, and believe me, just getting her junk out of the way will make room for everything that hubs and I have been doing without because she refuses to throw things away.
