That Mushishi, Rurouni Kenshin, and Blassreiter had some kind of real fandom.  Like I've read/been a part of some real deep character discussions concerning FMA characters as well as InuYasha characters (and I know Bleach, Naruto and Soul Eater have a fandom that does this).  Mushishi, despite ahving only 2 reocurring characters, I think could do it.  The one time only characters are full of discusability (is that a word? did I just make a new word? XD)

RK.  OMG.  Kenshin's dichotomy alone is enough to fuel many message boards many times over.  Sano's too.  You have this orphan slave boy who is rescued from certain death and raised by his savior to be quite possibly Japan's most deadly assassin.  You watch as he slowly begins to spin out of control and then is reigned in again by a woman whose fiance he personally murdered.  But when you see Kenshin in the series and not the OVA...  The rurouni that wanders into Kamiya Kaoru's life is NOT the deadly Battousai.  Exploring how he got from point a to point b would be so rich and rewarding.  Maybe I just don't know where to look...  And Blassreiter, I don't even know how many people even know this anime exists.  I think I like ti so much because it's like a mecha version of Blood+ (which is another shortchanged fandom!)

Anyone involved in any of these and if so where are the wonderful groups??

There are quite a few RK fans on my flist so I'm surprised to hear that there is no fandom activity.

Found these:

http://rk-community.livejournal.com/

ETA: I was given all the RK manga and have watched a few episodes. I like it. I just kind of forgot about finishing it. -_-

Must change that.

It's in Japanese so it might take me a while, lol. But I did watch some of the anime and I enjoyed it.

PS: Saw a link to your FMA fic contest entry via [livejournal.com profile] fullmetal_info. The Scar/Rose one. I figured I wouldn't be able to comment there if I wasn't a member so I wanted to tell you here that I really liked it! I never thought about that pairing before, but the minute I saw your fic, they totally clicked into place.

I thought you were a member! Why ain't ya??? And Scar/Rose is a secret love of mine, but if everyone else seems to like it, maybe it shouldn't be a secret! (Did you know COS canon is Rose/Alex Armstrong? omg no!)

Nope, not a member. I was in the past, but I know it's not something I would participate in regularly, if at all. I do peek in every now and then though, and I'm glad I do or else I would have missed awesomeness like your fic!

you don't have to enter fics every week, I certainly don't. But you can read and vote! You should join again!

I know Rurouni Kenshin had a fandom because someone tried to get me into it (I could not get into RK, ditto Blassreiter) but it's also an older fandom so it may be kinda dead none.

I think Mushishi has about 5 of us watching it which is a shame

Isn't Mushishi about the most beautiful thing ever? sigh, I think you're right about that number too, seems accurate.

At the con they're having a fan run event called The Best Anime You've Never Seen, I bet Mushishi is on it.

::raises hand:: Make that SIX Mushishi fans...I discovered it purely by accident on Netflix and then was surprised and delighted that Travis was on board. Stunning and moving...have not finished it yet but it is a strange, beautiful gem of a series...

I remember reading a blog post Travis wrote on Live Journal no less, and it was talking about Mushishi's animation. I wrote the title down so I'd remember to watch it when I finished FMA (in fact, it's still written on the wall in pencil in my bedroom because I didn't have a scrap of paper at the time). And when I started watching it I couldn't believe how beautiful it was, both in overall tone and visual beauty and everything. I used to watch it before bed because it was so calming and soothing.

Oh, you remember/have the link of Travis talking about Mushishi? (Had been wanting to watch that anime since you did the FMA/Mushishi crossover fic, but been quite busy. D: I'll get to watching it eventually XD).

It's late and I can only handle copy/paste right now. XD Kenshin is on my list of things to watch. I literally started Naruto yesterday, so I'll probably be on Naruto for a while.

I started Naruto on netflix and then they took the first season off and now I'm waiting til they put it back on to get started in it again (I forgot what episode I'm on XD)

Kenshin imo is a little slow at the beginning. For the love of god don't watch the animax dub. And honestly, I wish they would have ended it after the Shishio arc. The actual ending is a bit awkward and not canon with the manga. THE 1ST OVA IS IMMACULATE. You will cry gallons though. I can't wait to see the live action movie that released this year.

Instead of cable I have Netflix streaming and Hulu Plus, so I get a good mix of everything between the two (Naruto and Shippuden are on Hulu right now). I'm on episode 6 ... of 5,896. XD

I've been told Kenshin is a must see for samurai lovers, so it's definitely on there.

omg that's what is partially keeping me from seeing naruto XDDD I think I made it to 12? who knows...

Kenshin is a beautiful story, lots of flashbacks to the shinsengumi and the Meiji revolution. When you're ready to watch I'll rewatch with you. And the music is very early 80's for some reason, I dunno why I thought that was important to mention, other than it just threw me when I started watching.

Ha what I did is I have a a friend told me to just go ahead with Shippuden and another telling me a lot of the original Naruto episodes are filler/totally different from the manga, so I read summaries/backstories over what happened in the first part of Naruto and then watched the Shippuden episodes. I think I stopped around episode 80 of Shippuden as I got suddenly busy and didn't feel like catching up, LOL.

I totally forgot about this. I really like the way she presented them. (And I'm a bit of a crossover whore in general, so it scratched that itch rather well.) Thanks for the reminder!
