Icon Meme!

The icons bay115 chose for me are:

  LOL, I have so many fandoms and ships that I just needed a general 'ROFL' icon, so I picked a picture of Mao Tse Tung, China's most well known communist leader, and wrote ROFL MAO along the bottom.  It's lame but I made it dammit! lol

This is a screencap from Rurouni Kenshin, of Kenshin Himura from his battle with Hajime Saito, when Kenshin switches over to the Battousai.  For those of you who aren't familiar with the series, Kenshin used to be an elite assassin who helped bring about the Meiji era.  He was such a killing machine that he earned the name 'Hitokiri Battousai', or 'the Manslaying Assassin'.  After the Meiji era brings peace to Japan, he abandons the title, changes his appearance, and becomes a wanderer (a rurouni) who carries a reverse blade sword, a sword that cannot cut when used in place of a traditional sword.

Anyway, sometimes he slips back into the Battousai, like when his girlfriend is in trouble, and his eyes change color from violet to gold.   I love the piercing stare he's giving Saito here, so I grabbed it for an icon.

Alphonse Elric!I  I love this icon because the mood is ambiguous.  He could be angry, sad, serious, determined, evilly plotting something, or just enjoying the bird on his head.  This one's called just 'Al'.  I have the dumbest names for my icons XD

This one is called "Riza Royai" and I did a lot of work on this one.  This is from a manga page (I believe sometime before they leave East City) where she and Havoc are talking to Roy about something and I liked her how her face looked so soft and real (it's prolly just me XD).  In the original, her eyes are closed, but I kept thinking to myself that the way her eyes were drawn it would be easy to open them a little.  Then I thought she could be reading some Royai, and so this icon was born.  Lemme see if I can dig up that original real quick... HERE it is!  I added the smirk, changed the map or whatever to some Royai (I believe that says says 'Once upon a time there was a blonde woman and a dark headed man..." in teeeeeny tiny letters!), added the heart and put it on that pastel rainbow background.  Oh yeah I colored it too.

Ah yes, "Zero Yuuki"!  This is from a series called Vampire Knight and is a shojo series.  Zero is an emotastic angsty teenage vampire hunter who works with his adopted sister Yuuki as like security detail at Cross academy, a boarding school that allows both humans and Vampires to attend.  The Vampires know the penalty for feeding on the humans and so there's not a problem, but the vampires are all so beautiful and the humans fawn all over them, it's kinda ridiculous lol.  Anyway, there's always this big ship war over who Yuuki should end up with.  Canon has her paired with her vampire brother, but he's kind of a dick to her (imo) and she and Zero kind of have this pseduo incestual awkward relationship that really needed to be further explored before the mangaka set Yuuki with Kaname.  (And despite the dub of the anime being HORRIBLE!!!, Zero was one voice they got right... THANK YOU VIC MIGNOGNA!)
