Kinda bummed...

I'm really hung up on Ancient Egypt, and even though Cleopatra is really late and isn't even of true Egyptian heritage, she was still one of the most brilliant rulers of that era.  Anyway, there's an exhibit all about her at the Cincinnati museum and I really wanna go, but it's 2 hrs away, it's $27 I think for admission, and that's not counting the gas it would take to get there, the souveniers I know I would want, or the food I would need.  And I'd have to take Joey, who doesn't really do well on long car rides (more on this in a second).  And because I'll be going to Myrtle Beach in less than two weeks, I kinda have to pick one thing or the other.  I wish I wasn't poor, but that's the nature of things at the moment.  So it will probably be another fifty years or so before anything that cool comes from Egypt anywhere near the Ohio River Valley, but at least when it does come back, I'll be able to get the senrio citizen rate of admission, and I won't have to lug around a chunky 25 pound toddler in a stroller that doesn't like to go straight.


Joey and the long car rides: sweet Buddha what made me think I could take him 9 hours in the van to Myrtle Beach??  I would leave him with his godmother but I'm pretty sure she can't watch him for a week.  And we all know how Walter would feel about me leaving him here, though I wonder if Cliff could handle it... Maybe I should ask him.  The going down part should be pretty good, it's the coming back part that worries me, he seems to always be cranky on the way home, but not the way down.  I've asked about borrowing a portable dvd player, but no one has one that works.  I've got a PSP, I wonder if I can get some kids movies used at like Gamestop or something.



THAT'S SOMETHING TOO!  I preordered Star Wars: The Old Republic today!!  I can't wait to start playing again, and this one is set up so cool!  Cliff got into beta testing!  And your choices affect which side you're on.  So even if you start out as sith inquizitor, your choices can make you neutral (I dunno if you can go truly light side with that class) or in the case of Bounty Hunters, you can become a Smuggler I think (Light side).  OF COURSE, I'll be playing for the Sith.  I plan on rolling an Imperial Agent.  This tank is done tanking.  I'm trading in my sword and board from WoW and picking up a couple of vibrodaggers and thermo detonators for SWTOR.  But... No one knows when the game will be released.  So until then, I'll be working on getting my Braeda/Chris fic finished and waiting for my first road trip in five years.

The Cleopatra exhibit does sound amazing. Sucks it won't come back for a while, but like you said it's probably better that way, heh. Enjoy your trip at Myrtle Beach, though!

Hm, you might be able to get some kids movies used at Gamestop, but make sure they work, lol. Don't know how many times my dad and I rent movies at video store,s only for the DVDs to have scratches on them and such.

Oh, while I'm still here, you have some time to beta? I need someone to look over my Roy/Riza springkink fic for grammar and if the hurt/comfort part of it works. I'll be able to have it ready by tomorrow or Saturday. If you're quite busy at the moment though then I understand, I'll just keep asking around.
