1 - How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
Long time ago, like 1995 or so, I started reading the Star Wars books (paid fan fiction!) and though I could write one too.  Boy was I ever wrong...  Fast forward to 2008 and I discovered fanfiction.net, and at the time I had just gotten into watching InuYasha.  However, my first official fan fic was written for a Stephen King epic called The Dark Tower series.  It didn't go over very well, so I decided to try InuYasha fandom.  My numbers were through the roof and I was hooked.  I loved the complexity of the characters I chose and had a great time writing it, and after that, I'd go on to write over 100 different fanfics (and counting!)

2 - Name the fandoms you've written in, and how much you've written in that fandom, and if you still write in it.
Dark Tower series, InuYasha, FMA, Bleach, Mushishi, Highschool of the Dead, Rurouni Kenshin...  The main ones I write for are InuYasha 61 fics, Rurouni Kenshin 7 fics and FMA 41 fics; multiple fics for those fandoms.  The rest are 1 shots, and I have other fandoms in progress: Trigun, Samurai Champloo and Blood + (which I probably will never finish lol)

3 - For each of the fandoms from day two, what were your favorite characters to write?
well, when I first started writing InuYasha I loved writing Sesshomaru, even though I got his characterization all wrong.  Now I prefer to write for Miroku because I have him down pat.  In FMA, I started I think with Royai, Royin particular.  But as time's gone on, I love to write Madame Christmas.  She reminds me of my darling grandmother.  Rurouni Kenshi: my favorite character to write is Sano, because he's so much like Miroku.

4 – Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?
I'd say for InuYasha fandom, it's Miroku's daughters.  They're not very developed in canon, but in my head canon they are very developed.  For FMA, I'd say Royai (that counts as 1 character right?).

5 –If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

Sometimes, I write them in lol, sometimes they simply have to wait their turn on the one shot circuit!

6 – When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
Male.  I dunno why, I just tend to lean toward the male POV, even having gone so far to ask several of my guy friends for pointers for things I have no clue about (*cough* SEX from a male POV).

7 – Have you ever had a fic change your opinion of a character?
I've had a fic change my opinion of a particular pairing (Roy/Ed, FMA).  And sometimes you find a fic that paints a character in a different light, but I don't think I've ever had a fic change my mind about someone.

8 – Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs.
My OC's are usually children for pairings.  My favorite OC's are Miroku's son Keiji and Al and Mei's twin daughters, Alexandra and Nina.

9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?
OMG.  Here goes!
INUYASHA: Miroku/Sango, Sesshomaru/Rin, Kohaku/Sessmom
FMA: Roy/Riza, Al/Mei, Braeda/Christmas
RUROUNI KENSHIN: Aoshi/Misao, Sano/Megumi, Kenshin/Kaoru
HOTD: Takashi/Saeko, Kouta/Alice (friendship loli), Kouta/Takagi
BLEACH: Renji/Rukia, Rangiku/Gin, Shunsui/Nanao
MUSHISHI: Ginko/Io, Ginko/Tanyuu, Kisuke/Setsu
DARK TOWER: Eddie/Susannah, Roland/Susan, Roland/and the housekeeper whose name escapes me at the moment... Carlita? something like that

10 – Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?
I didn't think I could ever write a yaoi pairing comfortably.  But when I tried it with Ginta/Hakkaku... they became canon for me and every fic I had them in afterward they were a couple (except for one but I think that was pre-yaoi fic)

11 – Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?
romance, dark fic... I LOVE to write about drug addiction.  I POSITIVELY LURVE lolicon and age play, anything typically taboo or unconventional.  I guess I'm a sicko LOL

12 – Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?

Wow... no, but I think I could make InuYasha fit Trigun, or FMA fit Soul Eater...

13 – Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
Mostly, I favor canon, especially with InuYasha, I can't stand modern AU of this and it drives me insane.  And fanfic alone for that fandom, 90% of it makes more sense than the original material.  FMA imo was manga/anime perfection.

14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?

I will go to any length with my fics.  I will cover any topic and my ratings have been even past NC17, into that squicky area that even perverts don't like to go in (read that Barry the Chopper/Truth fic I wrote for fma_fuh_q O__O... self rape and disemboweling gender swap? omfg...)  I'm more surprised when I get a G fluffy fic written than a risque one.

15 – Warnings – What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what's the strangest thing you've warned for in a fic?
I warn for stuff that I know is controversial: Lolicon/Shotacon, beastiality, hardcore sex, super mega ultra violence...  I've been accused of making my warnings too graphic.  I like for people to know what they're getting into before the jump into my stories though.

16 – Summaries – Do you like them or hate them? How do you come up with them, if you use them?
Sometimes the summaries are SO HARD.  Sometimes they're very easy, but I almost always use them out of habit now.

17 – Titles – Are they the bane of your existence, or the easiest part of the fic? Also, if you do chaptered fic, do you give each chapter a title, or not?
Again, some titles are easy and come right off the top of my head.  Others... I gnash my teeth over it.

18 – Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics (aka "bunnies") from?
I have very vivid dreams every single night, and some ideas come from there.  Mostly, I get my best ideas for fic when I'm in the shower.

19 – When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?

Both.  If it's a really good bunny and really gnawing at my brain, I sit down and write right away.  Others have to go in 'the stew pot' and simmer for a while...

20 –Do you ever get bunnied from other people's stories or art in the same fandom?

YES!  I wrote a contest piece based on my favorite fan art of Ling and Lan Fan.  The prompt and the art were perfect.  I love that story.

21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?

Yes, write sequels to some FMA fics that I just adored the pairings.  I don't like sequels really...  I prefer collections: fics that can be read as either a single story or a whole collection either way.  That's what I've tried to do with my InuYasha pairing Kohaku and Sessmom.

22 – Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?
Never did a big bang.  I'm working on my first fest pieces now!  Of all things to pick, I picked the slash fest to do first *smacks self*  OH! and I did the FMA gift exchange, that was fun, did some charity pieces too.

23 – When you post, where do you post to? Just your journal? Just an archive? Your own personal site?

I just created a community where I can post all of my fic from fanfiction.net, adultfanfiction.net, LJ, etc.  The answer above reminded me that I need to go get my gift exchange pieces and stick up somewhere!

24 – Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?
Honestly, I'm new to using a beta. [livejournal.com profile] missyquill  is beta-ing my Braeda/Chris fic Whatever it Takes and I'm enjoying the hell out of the experience.  She's great at continuity and plot problems.  And [livejournal.com profile] bay115  is great at picking out POV issues.

25 – Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?
Generally, it depends on what I'm writing as to what I listen to.  Romance (waff): I turn on "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica in like 4 or 5 different versions and hit repeat.  That helps me keep things lovey dovey and sweet and passionate without it feeling smutty or cheap.  Straight up fucking/rough sex/hardcore pr0n: hair metal.  It's all about women and sex and drugs anyways, might as well put it to good use, right!?  More complex plots get the Mushishi playlist: it's quiet and spooky and thought generating.  Violent stuff gets viking metal/deathmetal.  And sometimes if I get sidetracked and need a breather I listen to some Lady Gaga just to jar my senses lol.

26 – What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?
lol I researched opium for 2 weeks before I wrote my InuYasha fic "Poppies for Sango".  And for a beastiality fic I researched dog sex.  Did you know that the reason canines 'knot' or get stuck together when mating is because of all the animal species, dog semen has the highest amount of water in it.  If the vaginal canal isn't blocked, it runs out and the bitch won't get pregnant.

27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?
I only have one place to write and that's behind my mega machine in the computer room.  It's hot as hell back here and I hate it >:(  And gods let me type on a computer because I can go faster and write more in a shorter period of time.  I used to write on a typewriter when I wrote those 2 Star Wars fics back in high school.

28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic?
OMG [livejournal.com profile] ravyn_skye !!!!!!!!  We collab all the time on Sess/Rin beastiality fics!  She even indulges my Miroku/Rin fetish and sometimes we write Mir/Rin/Sess threesomes!  SQUEEE!!!  And I've been the artist for other people's fic, but only once have I had someone make a fanart for a fic I wrote.  We didn't work together on it, she was just inspired.  I love it, it's exactly what I had in mind when I wrote the scene she depicted.

29 – What is your current project or projects?
'Whatever it Takes' is in progress, haven't gotten started yet on that 5th chapter, I wanna run something by my beta first before I start for sure.  Also got some slash-fest pieces I've completed but aren't beta'd, and one that still needs to be written.  I have a slew of loli request fics for the FMA fandom.  1 Trigun fic I'd really like to finish before it gets stale, and 1 Blood + fic for my friend who just moved so far away to Germany.

30 – Do you have a favorite fic you've written? What makes it your favorite? And don't forget to give us a link!
Hmmm... My favorite fic from everything I've ever written??  (peruses ff.net profile) I think honestly I'm going to go with this one: Rurouni Kenshin: Forgive Me.  It's so angsty, but I nailed the characters like nobody's business.  These are the best characterizations I have ever written and the most true to canon plot I've ever conceived.  IMO, it's like Nobuhiro Watsuki wrote it himself.  It actually sat on my hard drive for months, and when I took another look at it, all it needed was the last two sentences.  I think I was planning on writing a lemon there, but writing a lemon for Kenshin is like writing a lemon for Mother Theresa; it just doesn't feel right!!  So the last sentences came out of my mouth as I was reading the whole fic over out loud to myself...  Hard to believe something this special to me sat unpublished for so long because of two little sentences.

On #4, LOL Roy and Riza are my muses too and I would consider Royai as one character. :P They sometimes barge in when I'm at work and they drive me nuts! XD Also, haha glad I'm a help over the POV switches. I had problems with POV before, so I was able to learn how to not make those same mistakes.
