This is a good video about kokeshi! And thanks your kind words about my paintings!
When we visited the kokeshi museum (in the same town shown here), there was a craftsman at work and he just kept shaping the wood for the bodies over and over. I'm sure he had his process figured out how he liked it, but for an onlooker it was kind of funny.
I bought a blank kokeshi to paint, but I'm not sure what I want to make it look like so it's still just sitting in my room...!
