sonjajade: (Greed is special)

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who bought art from me (and in some cases simply donated to the cause!)  I'll be able to go to Aoi Uma Con as dreamed of, which is now 9 days away!!!  Thank you all so much!!!

I sold that Michael Kors watch I found at work at last.  Sold it on ebay for $144 adn some change, which meant I was also able to buy an alternator for my van (and a little leftover for a Miroku shiny- which should be arriving today or tomorrow in the mail).  the rest is going into my bank account because I'm going to have to take some time off work...

I'd been complaining for weeks/months about my right foot hurting.  Sometimes it hurts down in the arch, sometimes in the ankle on the inside, sometimes even up the leg a little into like the shin...  Most days I can make it through most of my day at work before it starts giving me trouble, but by the time I get home I sit with it propped up for 6 hours and still hobble around the house in pain after resting it so long.  Monday I went to work and it started full on screaming in pain after standing on it only 30 minutes.  After my shift I went to the immediate care center and they x rayed it for me.  The doctor (who, bless her heart, seemed so very nice but spoke with such a thick slavic accent it was hard to understand her) said she didn't see any crack, breaks or fractures, but that there seemed to be a bone chip in my ankle and bone spurs and arthritis in my arch.  She is sending me to an orthopedic surgeon to do the x rays again and reread them to be sure, and of course I started panicking when I heard the word 'surgeon'.  As in surgery.  As in put you to sleep and cut you open. My appointment is on Monday at 1, so we'll see what happens then.  In the meantime, the doctor said I could go back to work on Saturday as scheduled and gave me a script for an anti inflammatory called Mobic.  (I think the generic is meloxicam?)  Also have a raging ear infection and a toothache.  I just want to get through the anime convention before I have to deal with anything.

Every animal I own has fleas right now.  I'm too poor for the Frontline, so I got this super cheap stuff at kmart that said itkills fleas in 15 minutes.  there are Frontline alternatives now that have the same active ingredients, but they don't have the weight size I need for the 2 big dogs and I'm not sure about combining the smaller size tubes.  So far, the fleas are still just on the dogs.  None on the couch/chair, none in my bed though I can't say about my husband's bed because they sleep with him sometimes.  The cat isn't as loaded as the dogs, so maybe they're in the yard.  It sucks when you can't make them stop itching.  We bathe them as often as we can without drying their skin out totally.  I try to comb them with the flea comb but the big dogs are hard to do and I just can't do it all by myself.

I'm supposed to go Friday to renew my foodstamps.  I'm hoping that they give me a little more this time- I was cut down from $300 a month to $220 and we're barely making it.  If you want to know what the face of poverty looks like, this is it.

On a lighter note, my 3 year old son is playing playstation games like he's been doing it all his life.  He plays his 'Frog game', which is Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Plants vs. Zombies, occasionally Saints Row 3 (and you can tell Troy Baker's voicing the guy because it sounds just like Greedling), and sometimes Battlefield 3, though when I catch him playing those 2 I boot him off immediately because he don't need to be playing them.  I can't even figure out how to play that Oddworld game!  And it's all problem solving logic stuff.  Little Pea can't spell or sing his alphabet, but he can read some words and beat me at that damn game.  Oh, and he beats me at Angry Birds too, so he's a physics genius!
