My newest discovery... hentai doujinshi

Lolicon doujinshi at that...  This is a Kenshin pairing, Aoshi Shinomori (the badass samorai archtype) with young Misao Makimachi (She is wearing Aoshi's coat obviously)

The only thing that sucks is that I can't read japanese...  Some of the dcans I've seen there's actually a back story going on besides the gratuitous sex and I really wish I knew what was being said.  Some of the english ones sound like 'engrish'.

Anyway, that's what I've been up to.  How's the new year going for everyone so far?

honestly the one I care most about is the last page if you don't want to do the whole thing. All I can read are the names, which are "Aoshi-sama" and Misao...

Thank you very muchly, babes! I just joined a scantilation group, so I need all the practice I can, right? XD

Also, as I'm leaving soon, I want to do some serious brushing up, because I couldn't go last year because I'd had a recent MRSA outbreak, so I fell out of practice, and started making stupid little mistakes, so I'm grateful for any opprotunity to practice.

I'll translate it in a transcript format, then I'll have a native-speaker check it, then I'll put it in photoshop and change the words to English on the pics, and then I'll get it back to you.

Doing all this may take a few days, but I'll do my best to hurry, while still being accurate as possible.

And of course, you are always welcome to get it checked elsewhere.

Also, do you have any ideas as to the character's names, so I'm not trying to translate those Kanji with regular rules, instead of as their names?

If not it's okay, I'll figure it out, it just makes it a TINY little bit easier.

By 'characters names' I MEANT the kanji for them, but it seems I was able to find it via google.

I don't know how much 'backstory' there is... XD

The first panel opens with 'It's really raining in a down pour with enthusiasm' and then there are mentions of setting traps on the seventh day, but most of it is pronz XD

'Be patient' and 'Th - this is supposed to be a romantic show of force?'.

Also, lots of translations sound like 'engrish' because some things just don't directly translate, so it's going to sound funny in english regardless.

What's slowing me down is that even blowing it up, I can't see some of the kanji... The first page has a name on it, that the kanji looked like black blobs XD. Some of the kanji, it's like asking a Japanese person read sloppy English handwriting... And I DO kind of wish twhere was more kanji than hiragana in some places...but the style is typical hentai doujin XD

Megumi is the chick at the very last page, Misao Makimachi(巻町 操)is our loli girl and Aoshi Shiomori (四乃森 蒼紫) is our man.

I found a kenshin/kaoru one that has a lot of back story, but it's kinda long and I feel like that's rude to ask you to translate for me, since I have no way of paying you or otherwise returning the favor. I see now what you meant about the 'engrish', I guess you have to take what's written and sorta transpose it into something you'd hear normally in english, like "It's really raining in a downpour with enthusiasm" could be, "Wow, it's really coming down out here." or "It's raining cats and dogs out there". I certainly have a greater appreciation for those who translate manga and doujinshi now. The only other language I know is german and there are no problems getting it into english, I guess because it's another european language. Hope you're feeling better I saw your post about the shower from hell.

Yeah, well, I usually try to more litteral translations, because in the past someone tried to wank my translations as 'wrong', because I put it into more english terms.

If I say 'It's raining cats and dogs out there', but the kanji for 'cat' and 'dog' is nowhere in the sentence, there are some people who will say 'THAT'S TOTALLY NOT WHAT IT SAYS AND YOU DON'T KNOW JAPANESE AND YOU'RE WRONG WRONG WRONG AND TROLLING OMFG!'

You shoulda heard what happened when I translated the hell arc from 'Are you profoundly/truly sad, Sesshoumaru' to 'Are you so heartbroken?'

And when I said 'In that moment you wish to save your beloved's life, you must also feel sadness and terror'... People argued with me that Sessmom didn't call Rin Sess's 'beloved life' - BUT THEN THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATIONS ON HULU OF THE NEW ANIME HAVE HER SAY EXACTLY THAT. >_<"

I just try to be as accurate as possible though, which sometimes leads to engrish, because I got wanked so hard in the past for being 'wrong'.

I'll be done soon, as soon as my niece, who is now living with me gets off the photoshop computer and I can jump on there and spend some time putting the words in the bubbles.

Sry it's taking so long, I've just been SO BUSY.

In general though, this is kinda dub-con in nature at the start, and she whines about how much it hurts and all he says is 'be patient'... She also remarks on how rough he's being in his 'attack', and hopes that he's doing it out of romantic feelings for her.

It's not flat out rape, but it's definitely typical Japanese hentai where she's protesting in the beginning, so if that's going to squick you, let me know now.

I don't want the words to actually RUIN THE SEXY for you.

Yeah, I went out for coffee to cool down and get some 'me' time and I blew off the party. (I'm a bad, bad sister... but BY GODS I COULDN'T HANDLE IT.)

ETA: There is also a part where she says 'ATSU!' which literally translates to 'High pressure' or 'great force', but I have her say 'SO FULL!', but I made a note there.

and the whole protesting thing seems to be typical, and it doesn't bother me in the least, I think of it as like an embarassment thing rather than an "I don't want to do this" thing, least that's how the hentai vids portray it.
