I had a little head cold back around New Years, it went away like 3-4 days later. Then on Jan. 8th I came down with sinusitis (bad sinus infection). I was fighting it with some preggo safe OTC drugs, nothing seemed to be helping. I ended up going to the ER when I suddenly went deaf in my right ear. Turns out the pressure in my sinuses had backed up the fluids in my ear. Anyway they put me on azithromiacin (Z-Pak) and gave me some pain drops because it felt like I had a nail shoved in my ear drum. A few days later, I seem to get better, but my throat never stops hurting, and it's hurting so bad that my ears are hurting when I swallow. I go to the immediate care center 2 weeks after the ER visit, as I am still coughing, still sneezing, still having the sore throat, still deaf in my right ear... The Dr. says Ihave some kind of throat infection that has caused the drainage tubes in my ear to clog up, that I have acute bronchitis, likely brought on by the sinus drainage. He puts me on yet another Z-Pak, a steroid inhaler and a powder inhaler. 3 days into the 2nd Z-Pak, I feel MUCH better, the throat finally quits being sore, my ear opens up a little, I think I'm going to get better.

WRONGO. It has been over 2 weeks since I went to the immediate care center. I am STILL hacking to the point I almost puke, I am still snorting and sneezing and dealing with my nose... I just want to feel better so I can get some damn rest! I sleep in 2 hr spurts as it is because I gotta pee so much, but when I get up, I start coughing. So I sit up for about 30 minutes hacking and coughing and blowing my nose. By the third time I do this I say fuck it and go ahead and start my day. But the exhaustion makes me feel like I'm back in my first trimester wanting to hibernate all day long. I don't have a regular family doctor, which is why I keep going to the immediate care center. I really don't want to go back but I don't know what else I am supposed to do, just stay sick until after the baby is born?? Maybe it will quit when the weather breaks... I just want to quit coughing, I can deal with the nose, but my aching sides and back and gag reflex cannot handle the coughing, nor can my budget as I'm having to but pee pads now because every time I start coughing I squirt a little.

Anyone got any baby-friendly home remedies for a hacking dry cough?

BTW, got a new dog, we named him Dude! Here he is! He's a 2 yr old German Shorthair Pointer mix (with beagle we think)
