sonjajade | sigh... What to do about this fresh slice of hell?

I went and signed up to do a fic for that secret pineapple comm that was advertised (at some FMA comm) and I did exactly what they wanted me to do: submit a list of 4 prompts and when the list was released I had to choose at least 2 to write. Looking over the list, there's only 1 I really had my heart set on, and the other was kinda so-so. All the rest were fandoms I don't know, and the ones I did know, I didn't feel comfortable writing the characters. So I send in my choices and I get an email back saying that my choices were snapped up already and that I was put into an 'author lottery' and I drew another author and they gave me a list of all that person's prompts. The FMA ones are for Roy/Olivier, and one of the stipulations is that by the end of the fic they have to stay together. The other fandoms I have no clue what they are.

If I felt I could have written that comfortably, I would have chosen that. So now I'm stuck writing a story I don't want to write because these people are stupid and don't allow doubling up of prompts. Whatever. What I want to know is should I attempt to write the fic anyway, or politely contact the mod and tell them I can't write this pairing to the prompter's specifications. It's OOC for Olivier to want to stay with Roy, and it's OOC for Roy to know how to win her over. My biggest pet peeve is OOC stuff. Based on that alone, I cannot write Roy/Olivier, at least not where they end up staying together.

Ideas? Suggestions?? WTF do I do?

In other news, I fell in the garage while I was holding the baby and I damn near broke my legs trying to keep Joey from hitting the ground. It hurts to walk, and I think I got something stuck in my foots because SJ is a barefoot hillbilly and never wears shoes unless it involves getting in the van and going somewhere.

Yeah, I too think Roy and Olivier won't stay together. The best I can see them is fuck buddies. I would see if you can contact the mod about it. If you don't hear from the mod or you can't walk away from the prompt then I can help you bounce ideas on how they'll end up staying together without them being OOC. The only way I think this will happen is if you make it a crack fic.

To be honest with you, I think it's a little outrageous that they'd have to stay together. I mean, what's the point of that? I always enjoy reading certain pairings, so I get that, but I can read stories where they won't end up together or not. Honestly, I'd say brainstorm for a bit and see what you can come up with. If you can't come up with anything, I'm sure that there would be someone else who'd be willing to try it. So politely tell them that you can't. I'm sure they'd understand. Anyway, I'm sorry that happened. :(

I'm the same way. I never wear shoes unless I have to go somewhere. I almost never wear socks either. :) Anyway, I hope you feel better! But it's a good thing Joey didn't get hurt! If you need to, make sure to go to the doctor's. ^_^

...Ahem, ok for the fic, I think you shouldn't write it for the reasons you stated. Or write it and have it be a bad fic that you don't like? ...Then again, wouldn't smex friends kinda be the same as 'staying together' or did I miss something? (A lot of something >.<)

I hope you're not too hurt but glad baby Joey isn't too. Definitely get to the doctor if pain killers don't work or the bruising looks wrong.

Desired fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist
Desired character(s) and/or ship(s): Roy Mustang / Olivier Armstrong
A prompt: Romantic Comedy. Olivier decides it is time to get married in order to produce herself a heir to the noble Armstrong family, and Roy is seen as the only one suitable for the post. She gets to snatch him after a well laid plan. Now they have to take care of producing the heir.
Things the fic should not contain: slash. Hawkeye as a villain. The couple separated in the end.

Desired fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist
Desired character(s) and/or ship(s): Olivier Armstrong / Roy Mustang
A prompt: An important partner country leader is visiting the country and he has brought his younger daughter. For some reason, Olivier and Roy will have to get a long and babysit the infant. Make the two (Mustang and Armstrong) end up together.
Things the fic should not contain: Unhappy end, yaoi, clichés.

I couldn't make sense of what they're asking for this Roy/Ed one, maybe you can translate for me XD

Desired fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist
Desired character(s) and/or ship(s): Edward Elric / Roy Mustang
A prompt: Use the manga or the Brotherhood series. Roy is depressed for a reason to be chosen by the author. Please, don't use Hughes's fate as a reason. And Ed, whom already has something for him (knowingly or not) decides to cheer him up, introduce him to some woman, make him feel interested by someone like Riza (but this could be any canon female character). However, it seems that Ed's feelings are already too strong... Make at least one scene where his feelings are made clear to Mustang but they may end up going different ways.
Things the fic should not contain: too sappy scenes. I like drama but nothing too farfetched. Roy/Hughes. The woman being the bad guy, she's just part of the plot, not the villain.

Real quick, the third one I think what she's asking is Ed's already seeing someone else and is trying to hook Roy with another woman. However, Ed has feelings for Roy and shows him, but things didn't work out. Pretty much she wants you to do an angst Ed/Roy fic.

All right, I read all of the prompts and I think you should go for the Ed/Roy one if you don't feel comfortable writing the Roy/Olivier prompts. The first Roy/Olivier prompt I can maybe see them together in the end (I see that moreso as Olivier telling Roy he could still be her husband but won't hesitate a divorce if he does anything stupid to the baby, haha) while the second one not really.

Umm, wow. Those are pretty detailed.
The 1st one, the only thing I can even imagine is they are married for the specific purpose of an heir but have their own flings on the side? Technically still together, but not really O.o

The 2nd one, is just weird =3

The 3rd one, I think this is the best of the 3. I also agree with Bay115.
