The Kenshin costume I made

Okay, this was my first attempt at sewing a kimono and hakama, so bite my shiny metal ass if it doesn't look 100% authentic.

kenshin
I was doing a final fit on him to be sure the side vents weren't too long (I made the outer kimono from a tablecloth I got at goodwill and it was only so long... not nearly long enough but I made it work) and one of the sleeves was longer than the other. Need to work on the wig a little, but short of the final adjustments and the sandals, Himura Kenshin is ready to go to the con!  (of course that's provided Cliff shaves first so I can draw the scar on...)

They're really easy to make. I made those from a queen sized flat sheet I got at goodwill for $3. Sheets are much cheaper than fabric at the craft store. And like I told seta_suzume, I made them to fit *ME*, a woman's size 32, and Cliff is a men's 34. They fit us both perfectly! Wish I'd made some when I was preggo to be honest.

Sadly, my RA precludes me from making many things with my hands anymore :(

So, if you see anymore goodwill sheets and want to make a few extra dollars, let me know!

Sure thing! Do you have a preference on color? or do you want white/cream so you can dye them whatever color you like? (omg tie dyed hakama!!)

Thanks for keeping an eye out! The goodwills around here have stopped accepting bedding and such due to bedbug issues. The joys of urban life!

White (or light grey) is best since I can bleach out any random stains he gets on them. However, I suspect he'd be okay with baby blue as well....
