gretchen8642wrote an entry to the fma_fic_contest community titled "Adonis Burned" and asked if I would do a manip for it, so here it is! (View at full size, that's always best!)
Thanks! At first I was just going to do a single pic, but the screencaps I had couldn't work together without being flipped horizontally, which would've made someone's uniform look backwards. I had a lot of fun with this! I wanna do more like it!
Those eyes in the first panel were really hard, but I wanted to be sure I got her details in about the red flecks in the green irises. And I had to draw in a few things by hand, like an eyebrow that got skewed by eyeglasses that were edited out... Thank you, it was lots of fun and I'm thinking I want to do more like it!
holy craaaaaaaap this is amaaaaazing <333 no seriously i just stared at it for like 10 minutes being like. no way. no way someone did something this awesome because of something i wrote.
I love it when commercial art (like FMA) inspires fan fiction (i.e.:gretchen's piece) which in turn inspires more art (your photo manip)
One bit of a luxfail on my part: I always have trouble figuring out which direction to read from. I default to Right --> Left but with fan art I never know. Do you know if there is a symbol that designates which way, or do most people just figure it out by context?
YAY!!!! I'm so glad you like it! As I said in previous comments, this was a lot of fun (once I got my graphics pad to quit fucking up lol). Thank you for the opportunity to use my skills in a new way :)
I didn't even think about the right to left reading thing (which is what I default to as well...) though this reads from left to right. And the inspiration cycle is a beautiful thing, isn't it?
